Cotton Bowl Information 2017
This year the SBC Cotton Bowl tickets will reward fans with a live look at the debate that's been taking place across the college football nation: Is the SEC a significantly better conference than the Big 12? At the 2005 Cotton Bowl, Phil Fulmer's Tennessee Volunteers made a strong case for SEC superiority. The Volunteers filleted the Texas A&M Aggies, 38-7. But the Big 12 has won four of the last seven, highlighted by the Texas Longhorns' impressive 38-20 victory over Nick Saban and the LSU Tigers in the 2003 Cotton Bowl.
In 2004, more than 73,000 Cotton Bowl football fans bought tickets to see Eli Manning and the Ole Miss Rebels take on an Oklahoma State team featuring future Denver Bronco star, Tatum Bell. Both the Rebels and Cowboys had surprising seasons. In his senior campaign, Manning led Ole Miss to an upset win in Florida. Bell teamed with quarterback Josh Fields and future first-round draft pick, wide receiver Rashaun Woods to lead a Cowboy victory over No. 10 Kansas State.
The offenses lit up the scoreboard at the Cotton Bowl. Scoring early and often, Manning's Rebels built a 31-14 fourth-quarter lead. But the Cowboys, coached by Les Miles, would battle back.
With 70 years of experience, the Cotton Bowl knows how to throw a New Year's party. Dallas is the place to be come January 2, as Big 12 and SEC heavyweights do battle for conference superiority. Cotton Bowl ticket and reservations in Dallas are the ingredients to a memorable New Year's holiday.
