Chicago Cubs Team Info

OK, Cubs fans carried a lot of crosstown envy with them in 2005. But the Cubs faithful have to look at the last few years with an encouraging eye. Maybe the first 10 years of the new century will be the Decade of the Underdogs. If so, the Cubs are a prime candidate for a rise from the ashes. Nothing would be more welcome to the MLB fans that populate Wrigley Field, buying and enjoying their Cubs seats no matter what the outcome.

What the Cubs need in 2010 is good health. If they can keep everyone on the roster playing, then the Cubs could prove themselves to be the best team in the NL Central. What Dusty Baker needs is a healthy team. Give him that and he’ll do some damage.

Baker set about to improve the Cubs in the offseason by bringing in some fast moving players. The Cubs have lacked a strong leadoff hitter for the last few years and Pierre should fit the bill nicely, giving the Cubs the chance to play small ball with greater effectiveness. Pierre is a nice compliment to Derrek Lee, whose .335 batting average and 46 home runs earned him an NL batting crown.

Cubs games are always a favorite with MLB fans. There’s just something about the Cubs that touches something in baseball fans. With the recent trend toward long suffering fans being rewarded with World Series trips, the Cubs faithful can take hope.
