Los Angeles Dodgers Team Info

You have to admit Dodgers fans love their baseball. How else do you explain over three million people attending Dodgers games to see a team that finished twenty games under five hundred. At least they have a winning tradition dating back to the Brooklyn days for fans to hang their hats on, although the “Bums” have struggled more often than not. The Dodgers have eighteen World Series appearances under their belt and their history is one of which fans can be truly proud.

Much like their chief rivals, the Dodgers glorious history stretches back to 1883. In 1913, they moved into historic Ebbetts Field, where they played until leaving for California. Featuring stars like Pee Wee Reese and Duke Snider, the Dodgers enjoyed a love affair with their fans. Of course, bringing Jackie Robinson to the Major Leagues in 1947 was a historic day. The aforementioned love affair ended when Owner Walter O’Malley picked up stakes and moved the team to LA where even greater success and an equally sparkling array of stars thrilled a new generation of fans.

These new Dodgers have a lot to live up to in terms of past accomplishments by this famous franchise. Even more telling will the reaction of the fans. New faces bring renewed hope so it’s likely that three million plus will spin the turnstiles again at Dodger Stadium in 2011.  GM Ned Colletti is counting on his team to keep the customers happy and coming back for more.
