St. Louis Cardinals Team Info

The Cardinals have gone through their share of players in the last few years, experiencing an almost constant evolution of the roster trying to create the chemistry that will take them to the World Series. But throughout the upheaval one thing ahs remained steady: A pitching rotation that keeps the Cardinals in the mix. Over the past two seasons that pitching rotation has hurled the Cardinals to 205 wins, 100 in 2005 and 105 in 2004. True to their recent history, since the 2004 season the Cardinals now feature five different players taking the field, a pair of new gunslingers on the mound, and a whole new bullpen.

In 2006 the Cardinals slowed down the player merry go round to depend on Scott Rolen, Jim Edmonds, and NL MVP Albert Pujols to carry the offense forward. Pujols is considered by many to be the most potent player at the plate in the MLB. In 2005 he stroked his way to a .330 average, garnering 41 home runs, 117 RBI, and scoring 129 runs. It’s worth attending just to see Pujols swing the bat.

The Cardinals pitching rotation is the envy of the league. Cy Young Award winner Chris Carpenter won 21 games in 2005, posting a 2.83 ERA while notching 213 strikeouts. Hs comrade in arms Mark Mulder put up another 16 wins. Mulder depends on his defense, working the plate to prevent the big hit as well as anyone in the game. With Jeff Supran (16-10), and Jason Marquis to fill out the rotation, the Cardinals will once again be strong on the mound.

2010 Cardinals games are an opportunity to see the best baseball the NL central has to offer. The Cardinals are set to take on the hottest teams on their home turf, while keeping their eyes on the prize of repeating as NL Central Champs. Get your Cardinals seats today. It’s going to be one heck of a ride.
