Detroit Red Wings Team Info

One of the most famous teams in NHL history, Red Wings seats are in the least hard to come by. One of the league’s “Original Six,” they have taken hockey fans by storm since the beginning. Winning the Stanley Cup an unprecedented ten times, the team has proven itself time and time again as a powerhouse to hockey fanatics everywhere. Love them or hate them, you can’t deny that this is one of the greatest teams in sports history.

While they had multiple Cup victories out of the starting gate, the team truly engraved their name in the record books in 1947. It was in this season that “The Production Line,” one of the greatest lines of all time in hockey, was born. Formed by Sid Abel, Ted Lindsay and legend Gordie Howe, it didn’t shock anyone when the Wings made it to the finals that year. Although they were taken out, they made their comeback soon after. The 1950 season saw them claiming victory for another championship title. 1952, ’54 and ’55 all saw additional championships for the Red Wings as the swept the league. Although they hit a slump, they couldn’t be kept down for long. When the 1997 season came around, the team was under new coach Scotty Bowman along with a stacked team. The combination was good enough to get their first Cup since 1955 and the Wings were finally back on top. With a whole new brand of assurance, the team went all the way again in 1998. Then, 2002 saw their final championship victory to date.
